Yes I am back again, and I can't believe it has been 10 months since I last wrote on my blog, it has also been at least that long since I have doné any sort of juice fast, I just couldn't get motivated.
I stumbled across Jason Vale's latest video Super Juice me 1.5 (one and a half) so I watched it and I was inspired (again) like I was in 2015 when I first watched Joe Cross's "Fat Sick and Nearly Dead". If you haven't heard of Jason Vale he has been around and Juicing for health for about 25 years, that is when he found juicing and got his life together, He is 52 now but in his mid 20's Jason suffered the skin disease psoriasis, bad asthma , heavy drinker, heavy smoker and grossly over weight in his words. I think that is why I am inspired so much by both Joe and Jason, they both had illnesses and got healthy through juicing and I figure if they can do it then so can I. here is the link to Jasons video if you want to be inspired too! Anyway on with this new journey of 28 days of Juicing, we are actually on day 9 of 28 days, and I think we are both on track, Jason says that in 28 days you will lose 20lbs, which is 9kilo, which would make me one happy camper that is for sure. As always my diabetes is my first concern and at the start of this 28 days my BGL was 14.1, which is way too high, tells me that I had been naughtier than I thought, I knew I had been throwing caution to the wind and eating a fair few carbs, ( interesting why do we say a fair few meaning many when actually few means not many ???) but I also didn't realise it was having that great an impact on my BGL, as I have been taking my once a week diabetic medication "Trulicity". So it goes without saying if my blood sugar was up then so was my weight and by quiet a bit too, so this 28 days was, and is a necessity . To start this journey it was important to me that we invested in a cold press juicer to get as many nutrients from the vegetables as possible, and although Jason uses a cold press juicer most of the time he still uses the fast juicer and a blender, which is good for me too as I didn't want to make the fast juicer redundant just yet. With the cold press Juicer, one of the things I have noticed most is the taste of the lemon in the juice, with the fast juicer I peel the lemons in the slow juicer I don't, so you really get a zestier taste of lemon ( which I love) also new to this 28 dayer, is the ginger shots in the morning, Jason recommends it and I am loving the heat from the ginger in the mornings. There are loads of free juice recipes on Jason Vales website, which I am finding invaluable, and Andrew has just planted a new winter garden so I can hardly wait for our next bumper crop. I use to have a subscribers button so you would get notified when I posted a new blog, but I have been really slack and as you can see it has been 10 months since my last post, so I guess the button just dissovled into cyber space anyway no worries I post to facebook so if your interested in reading my blog, just click on the post and you can read all my blogs right from the beginning in 2015, ( I use to write alot ha ha) actually started my sugar free regime 2 years earlier but late 2015 was when I found Joe Cross. Well until next post "keep on Juicing "
